Literally called Cafe Le Majestik because it's located in a plaza called Majestic City. How poetic is that? Parking lot is fairly huge. Located in the heart of scarborough. It's a HK cafe so obviously you don't expect good service or question the cleanliness of the eating utensils haha. You just needa know if the food slaps and that's what keeps hk cafes poppin. Mong Kok broadway: This dish came w/ curry fish balls, chitterlings, pork skin, pig blood jelly and chives. They give you a lot of fish balls and the pork skin was actually cooked quite well. However, there was practically no curry sauce on the fish balls. Curry fish balls: Ok so we got HELLA finessed with this dish. All the yelp photos show the fish balls smothered in curry. Our balls were not covered at all. No exaggeration. I feel like they ran out of curry sauce but had an abundance of fish balls and just didn't bother to telling us that they ran out of sauce. The balls were cooked really well which was frustrating. Could've been amazing had we actually gotten curry slathered on our balls. Salted egg yolk french toast w/ condensed milk: Great french toast. Fluffy, proper, thick bread with ooey gooey salted egg flowing out from the middle. The condensed milk is the perfect pairing because you get salty and sweet in your mouth. The toast was also bigger than I expected. Wonton noodle soup: Uhhh.... yea, it doesn't hold a candle to Jim Chai Kee, Big Trio or Wonton Chai but at least the soup wasn't bland? Haha Yangzhou fried rice: Insta pass next time for me. Bland rice and not enough seasoning. Salted egg yolk fried wings: Quite crispy and the wings were big! Steep pricing though and I think I'd pass on this dish next time. Beef brisket w/ radish (side order): We ordered this as an *extra* meat dish. Some brisket pieces were very tender, some were tough. Not enough consistency but the flavour was good! The radish could've been softer imo. Singapore style fried vermicelli: Probably my fave dish of the bunch. The vermicelli had good "wok hay" and the seasoning was excellent. It was also a huge portion. Pork chop with yin yang sauce on rice: The pork chop was a nice blend of fatty and lean meat. I did enjoy the red sauce more than the white sauce (the white sauce tasted tinny to me) but I do appreciate that it was a big portion. Curry pork chop with scrambled egg on rice: This was my 2nd fave dish. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection (runny and rare) and the pork chop was drowned in that wonderful curry sauce that the fish balls were missing (funny how that works eh). All the rice grains were coated evenly with the curry sauce and every bite was just nomnomnom. Pig shaped milk pudding: While cute, this one was served with milk so the flavour was much more subdued and subtle. Bunny shaped milk pudding: Exact same milk pudding but shaped like bunnies and actually served with crushed oreos. I actually liked this one a lot more because of the textural contrast b/w the soft pudding and the crunchy oreos and the oreos being sweet actually elevated the flavour of the subtle pudding. Would definitely return to reorder some of these and also try some new items! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
