Very cool Mexican restaurant in Sofia and totally unexpected. Great chips and salsa, with fresh ingredients, a little chunky and packing the right amount of heat. Excellent carne asada tacos, not far off what I get in Texas or Cali or even northern Mexico. Not sure there are a lot of jalapeño growers in Bulgaria but everything was fresh and there was a great balance of flavors. It all was so good that I also ordered chicken mole enchiladas that were a bit too much to eat after tacos but had great flavor (though more traditional with red sauce than mole sauce). Good selection of Mexican beers and the margherita was spot on. I ate way more than I planned because I doubted I would get as good Mexican food anywhere I traveled in Europe as I tried a couple in Greece and was sorely disappointed. Authentic, tasty, and chill music and vibe. I don't think any of the locals knew how good it was, though they clearly enjoyed what Takoteka was serving up. 10 out of 10.
