Had a great breakfast here. Salmon on rye bread. Just a bit disappointed that I could taste any capers on my sandwich. The cream cheese was very little too. The golden sun juice with carrot, orange and ginger was an excellent tasty treat. Of course I had to have dessert even though we came for breakfast. The custard with the chocolate brownie was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted. I loved the decor and wall art. The manager is arrogant and dismissive. His first waiter (who we established was initially a bar tender and got promoted to waiter) did not inform us of the special changes but confirmed the old drinks special. He could not assist us with the specific drink we wanted and we asked him to call the old waiters to assist. I was shocked when the bill came as it was higher than I anticipated with the special that was confirmed. The 2nd waiter stated that the special had changed and he assumed our initial waiter told us. He called the manager, However he was very arrogant and told us his waiter could not get it wrong and that we should know the special had changed. That time we did not even have the special pamphlet nor did the initial waiter apologise but decided to lie, ( 2nd waiter was humble and polite but the manager kept aggravating the situation). The manger brings it to our table only to argue with us. RUDE. RUDE. RUDE AND ARROGANT. How do 3 people hear the same thing and get told they are lying??? I'm still reeling from the horrific breakfast experience at Streatery this morning. The meal was an unmitigated disaster, and I'm compelled to warn others to think twice before setting foot in this establishment. The breakfast plate, which looked promising at first, was a travesty. The avocado, neatly sliced by a human hand (I'll give them that), was unmistakably rotten. The slimy texture and putrid smell were unmistakable. How does a kitchen serve rotten produce with a straight face? The rest of the meal was unremarkable, but the rotten avocado overshadowed everything. It's inexcusable for a restaurant to serve spoiled food, especially when presentation is clearly a priority. *Major Red Flags:* 1. Quality control: How did rotten avocado pass inspection? 2. Kitchen hygiene: What else might be lurking in the kitchen? 3. Lack of attention to detail: Did no one notice the avocado's condition? *Advice:* Avoid Streatery until they address their quality control issues. Don't risk your health and palate on a potentially spoiled meal. Take your business (and appetite) elsewhere. *Will I Return?* No. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. *To [Streatery]:* Take this review as a wake-up call.
