I visited Stella’s today and was thoroughly impressed by the attentive and efficient service from a young female team member—her name if im not wrong was Arooge. I watched her seamlessly manage the front of the house, from seating guests to coordinating with servers and ensuring each dish was plated beautifully. Despite the busy environment, she handled customer concerns with remarkable calm and professionalism. The food arrived within 15 minutes, and it was worth the wait. When I complimented her on the exceptional coffee, she humorously mentioned it was a ‘million-dollar coffee, brewed with love,’ which added a warm, personal touch to my experience. Stella's food (pembina) is usually a treat, but my first trip to the Grant location was a total disappointment. Despite the dead atmosphere at 7pm on a Saturday, our server was the only shining light. Everything else went downhill from there. It took an eternity for our food to crawl out of the kitchen, and when it finally arrived, it was a joke. The fish tacos looked like they had been rescued from a bonfire, and my supposedly soft-poached eggs were as hard as rocks. How anyone in that kitchen had the audacity to serve such charred atrocities is beyond me. And the replacement process? Don't even get me started. They took the burnt tacos away and left the salad behind, and when the new tacos finally arrived after another 30mins or ao, there wasn't a side salad, just 3 tacos. The dish is designed to be served with a side salad. Having a salad by itself followed by 3 tacos is not the experience one would want to have when paying $23 for a plated meal. Not the Stella’s of old. Prices have increased a lot. Quality and substance has decreased. House salad was flaccid and under dressed. Pasta size has decreased and the shrimp were overcooked. My tea was tepid at best. Additional “hot” water made little difference. I also noted that at 7:30 on a Saturday evening there were very few people there unlike in the past when you were lucky to get in. I quess I am not the only one who has been disappointed.
