My Italian girlfriend and I was searching for the best schiaccata in Florence and we found it here. Jesus Christ was this good! The truffle oil, burrata and prosciutto crudo was an absolutely fantastic fit. Top notch ingredients which is obviously essential in all Italian food. But wow, did that porchetta melt on every bite. Almost all ”Guides to Firenze” highlight All’Antico Vinaio, which is much closer to the center and the Duomo. We never made the queue at that place during lunch time since only an insane person would do that. So, we don’t know how well they actually makes the schiaccata. However, we saw people leaving the All’Antico Vinaio with some schiaccatas and we do know that you get three times as much for the same price at SchiacciaMatta and the taste is just amazingly good! My italian girlfriend, that doesn’t want to be mentioned in this ”cheesy” review, got so nostalgic after eating here, remembering here studies in Florence. All in all, a fantastic place for the traditional schiaccata that beats the rest in that side of Arno. I touched the nose of the boar so I will be back for another one. Hopefully soon!
