Rubin is a serious restaurant with a long-standing tradition, established in the early 1980s. From the moment you arrive — even at the parking area — you can sense the discreet but genuine class of the place. The garden and the view are among the most beautiful in Belgrade. The food is generally excellent. A special recommendation goes to the beef tartare — I’ve tried it all over the city, and this one is definitely among the top 3 in Belgrade (Zvezdara Teatar still holds the #1 spot — those who know, will understand). The service is proper, old-fashioned in the best way, fully guest-oriented and delivered with respect. I also appreciate the selection of dishes suitable for people who don’t eat meat — a thoughtful touch that speaks well of the restaurant. My family and I have kept Rubin in our top 3 list for years and have been regular guests for over a decade. However, Rubin is no longer a perfect 5-star place — and there are reasons for that. Sometimes the waiters forget the order, the steak can be tough every few visits, and occasionally you need to ask for drinks several times (water, coffee, rakija). There were even moments when drinks were spilled while being served. Given the premium prices (for example, rakija Uteha costs 380–500 RSD elsewhere but 690 RSD here, and coffee is 260 RSD), such mistakes simply shouldn’t happen. We’ll continue coming — at least for now — and sincerely hope Rubin manages to preserve its well-earned reputation.
