A Colombian ‘island’ in Switzerland! Delicious food, lovely ambience and kind service. We felt like at home. What a nice sensation to have meals from ‘la tierrita’ this closewe just discovered it after being in Switzerland for 6 years and will return, for sure. Authentic Colombian Delight in Basel I had the pleasure of dining twice at Restaurante Colombiano Nuestra Tierra in Basel, and I can confidently say it’s the best Colombian restaurant I’ve tried in Europe. Every dish tasted authentic, crafted with fresh ingredients, and bursting with the rich flavors that define Colombian cuisine. During my visits, I enjoyed an array of traditional dishes: Cazuela de Mariscos, a hearty seafood stew full of flavor; a generous Picada featuring crispy chicharrón, savory morcilla, tender costillas de cerdo, juicy chorizo, crunchy patacones, and perfectly fried yuca. I also savored Lechona, Sobrebarriga, and several other Colombian specialties—all prepared to perfection. We also had the chance to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The evening was filled with Colombian music, vibrant energy, and a fantastic atmosphere, making us feel right at home while welcoming the new year. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, adding warmth to the experience. The restaurant also offers plenty of space for larger groups, making it ideal for gatherings with family or friends. Without a doubt, Nuestra Tierra will be at the top of my list on my next visit to Switzerland. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Colombia in Europe, this is the place to be!
