I'm obsessed with seitan wings at Rise Above Pizza & Wings in Hamilton. I used to drive to their St. Catherine's location just to stuff myself with wings, so I was very excited to have a location open in Hamilton this fall. Get the wings!The pizza's are also pretty damn good. You can get them by the slice or order a freshly made whole pie. The taco pizza special was fabulous and I hope they add it to the permanent menu.A word of warning...Rise Above's Buffalo Sauce is not really Buffalo Sauce. It's a dark, brown-red in colour and the tasty is sweet, which is far from the the orange tang of its actual namesake. Don't get me wrong, it's a great tasting BBQ sauce, but I was disappointed that my experience did not meet my expectation. I think they should rename this sauce just to be clearer with their customers. This sauce is available on both their wings and their pizza.The location is fairly drafty and, as we move into winter, I've noticed that cold air moves freely at floor level. Come dressed for a little chill and you will be able to enjoy your seitan wings in comfort.Did I mention that the wings at Rise Above truly rock? ;)
