Recently dined at Pet Bunara after reading countless reviews & recommendations, but unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype & left a lot to be desired. Starter was the best meal out of the lot. Chickpea puree (aka hummus) was lovely. We were pretty disappointed with the main meals. The ‘Pasta Nostre’ was the better of the two, holding more flavour but just lacked that star quality. ‘Red Risotto’ wasn’t great at all; had no body to it, and was more like a seafood fried rice than risotto. We finished up the pasta and added the rest of the sauce from that dish into the risotto to give it some more flavour (and it was dramatically improved, but still nowhere near what a risotto should be). Decided not to get a dessert and to go elsewhere instead. Price-wise, it wasn’t too bad I guess but you can get significantly better food elsewhere (as we did on other occasions). Antiquus (can’t recommend this place enough), and 4Kantuna spring to mind. Staff were lovely and attentive, whilst the ambience of the restaurant was also amazing. Just a shame the food didn’t match. Maybe we came on the wrong night, or even ordered the wrong meals to really get the wow factor, but hey ho! Still might be worth a go for others thinking about it.
