I loved coming here for dinner with my boyfriend until they closed. Loved the dining room atmosphere the table linens the glass design looking into the kitchen and the feathery light fixtures. They always had excellent service too. I really loved their Parpadelle with Pomodoro and their Bib Lettuce salad was always dressed perfectly, along with really great wines. I'm happy for Chef David Lee and the Planta restaurants though. I'm glad Planta Queen found a home at this location.

Definitely make a reservation as soon as possible before their last dinner service on NYE! I came to Nota Bene on a Thursday evening with my parents for an early Christmas gift, and departed with the best dining experience. It doesn't come to a surprise that Nota Bene is a reoccurring favourite for torontonians for the past decade. The hostesses started our experience off with a warm and friendly welcome and checked us in efficiently while taking our coats. Then we were greeted by Sterling, who chatted up a conversation while recommending some popular favourites. It was a very relaxing and immersive experience that never felt rushed so we could savour every part. The wine list is more than impressive and the sommelier gave us amazing recommendations that resulted in the most harmonizing wine pairing for our food. If I were to write a detailed review, I might as well publish a book because I could go on and on about the food, service and atmosphere. Some of the notable mentions include - The Nova Scotia lobster salad. Layers of flavours that served as a perfect sharing portion for my family. With lobster and grilled pork cheek that was a perfect combination with with celery cucumbers and mixed greens, it was something I genuinely was surprised to enjoy. - The black miso glazed cod was a favourite amongst all. If I could eat this everyday I probably would have. - Crispy onion rings with chilli lime dust......need I say more? - Brussels sprouts....now I get it, vegetables  .....but seriously I don't know what they're putting in these Brussels sprouts so it tastes more on the sweet side. It's almost caramelized with tempura bits but still has a savoury side. Definitely worth trying. I wish I was joking but me and my dad fought for the last piece. - if you read nothing from this review just take away with this.....ORDER THE STICKY DATE PUDDING.....I was hesitant about the heaviness of the dessert itself, but with ice cream placed atop a moist cake like layer that is surrounded by caramel and toffee....HEAVEN....kudos to chef lee and team for making the best dessert ever. I wish I was exaggerating, but I might have to come back just for this dish.... Our glasses were always filled, service was always stellar, and the whole dining experience is such a treat in general. If you're looking for a present for Christmas, take them to dinner at Nota Bene, it's a win win situation (cuz it's a present that you can also enjoy yourself ) Kudos to Chef David Lee and Chef Dan Hyam and the Nota Bene team for being such a staple in fine dining Toronto for the past decade.......PERIODT.
