Unfortunately, I have to report an extremely negative experience I recently had at La Stanza in Zurich. On December 24th, 2024, I went to the café at 4:02 p.m. to order a cappuccino to take away. Much to my surprise and disappointment, I was treated extremely rudely and aggressively by the male member of staff, who appears to be called "Mint". Although there were still six customers in the restaurant, I was told in an inappropriate tone that the café was already closed. When I politely asked if an exception could be made for a quick takeaway, the employee responded by shouting and threatening to call the police. When I asked the reason for this behavior, I was shouted at even louder and ultimately literally pushed out of the café. What I found particularly threatening was that the employee came extremely close to me - physically so close that it was uncomfortable and intimidating. It was no longer a respectful distance, but a physical approach that gave the feeling as if he could physically harass me or even attack me at any time. A female employee, instead of de-escalating the situation, joined in with the colleague's aggressive behavior and also asked me to leave the bar. The entire scene was disrespectful, unprofessional and deeply unpleasant. What was particularly shocking was that the other guests in the restaurant witnessed this degrading scene without anyone intervening. I felt humiliated and deeply disappointed by the way I was treated. A simple request for a cappuccino should not end in such an escalation. Unfortunately I cannot recommend La Stanza and hope that the management takes this feedback seriously. It would be urgent to provide staff with better training in etiquette, respect and conflict management to avoid such incidents in the future. Customers deserve respect and professional treatment, regardless of the circumstances. Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing that you portray my account of events as exaggerated or untrue. However, I can assure you that the incident happened exactly as I described it. If you question my account, I would like to ask you to see the camera footage from your café. In these recordings you can see exactly how the employee reacted aggressively after I spoke to him politely. You will see him walk a few steps towards me from the bar and then get very physically close to me in a way that was no longer friendly or appropriate. His behavior was clearly aggressive and threatening - even though I behaved politely and friendly from the start. The recordings should also show that my attitude was in no way rude or provocative. I understand that it can be difficult to evaluate such incidents, but I urge you to use the camera footage as an objective basis before dismissing my account as exaggerated.
