First, service and atmosphere was excellent. We came very late before closing - maybe why - beef and rotti was nothing like photos.. lots of skin and tendon. The flat fried noodle was just drenched in grease. Not appetizing. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Nasi Goreng Ayam

It's been ages since we've been back to John 3:16 Malaysian Delights. There's one other location in Richmond.- Beef satay ($9.95) - skewers were great; sticky, saucy and tender.- Char koay teow ($13.95) - needed a bit more wok hei but flavours were well balanced.- Kari laksa ($13.95) - one of the better laksas in town. Broth had good depth.- Roasted Hainanese chicken rice ($14.95) - chicken was fine but the rice didn't have much flavour.- Coconut rice ($2.95)- Steamed rice ($2.50)- Beef rendang ($20.95) - mix of decent to dry pieces. Potatoes were overcooked.- Lamb kapitan ($20.95) - lamb was better than the beef rendang.- Sambal okra, green beans & eggplants (M12) ($17.95) - all the vegetables were great, particularly the eggplant.One of the better Malaysian options in town. 3.5 stars.
