I would like to describe our visit to “Em Ringströßje” in detail. The ambience reflects that of a classic Veedels pub/football pub. We were the first guests in the pub/restaurant that evening. We were warmly welcomed by a lady and the owner. After the first Kölsch was quickly served to us, we decided on "fish & chips" and the pork knuckle. The following Kölsch were served to us friendly and quickly, as is usual in Cologne. The portion of fish & chips could have been more generous. The ketchup was The knuckle was unfortunately not crispy and the sauce served with it was not to our liking. But as we all know, tastes differ so far, but it was solid - whether the prices were justified Everyone should decide for themselves. After we signaled that we would like to pay, a waiter came to our table a while later and instead of asking, "Was everything OK?" There was a few seconds of silence before I asked: "What are we doing?" This question was related to the tip. I decided not to give a tip in response to this rather inappropriate question. As we left the restaurant, my “goodbye, have a nice evening” was met with a snarky, fake grin. Furthermore, I wasn't quite through the door frame when the door slammed behind us. You can discuss the quality of the food and the ambience, but not the unfriendly, arrogant behavior of the service staff. Unfortunately no recommendation from us.
