I’ve walked past Carnivale Funky Gastrotaverna countless times, and it wasn’t until a Greek friend recommended it that we decided to give it a try. What a discovery! This place is truly unique, cozy, and welcoming. The atmosphere and music create a delightful vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Thankfully, we made a reservation because the place was packed—definitely a sign of its popularity. We started with a platter of dips called “Mama’s Platter.” Absolutely phenomenal! The tzatziki was hands down one of the best I’ve ever tasted, and my wife fell in love with the eggplant dip. Each one was a burst of authentic flavors and made for a perfect appetizer. For the main course, we went for the Pork Gyro Monster, and let me tell you, it lived up to its name! This was the best gyro I’ve ever had, with flavors so rich and satisfying that it was unforgettable. The fries were out of this world, perfectly crispy and seasoned. Honestly, if I’d ordered a separate portion of them, I don’t think I’d have managed to walk out from sheer fullness! Two people ate quite a lot with only two things from the menu. The portions of these 2 suggestions are quite plentiful! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. They even recommended a dessert, which turned out to be incredible—it wasn’t overly sweet but just the perfect end to the meal. I wholeheartedly recommend Carnivale Funky Gastrotaverna. We’re already planning our next visit, and I have to share that my wife’s Greek colleague claimed this is the best Greek food outside of Greece, and possibly even better than many tavernas back home!
