For many years since the opening of your Brimley and Sheppard restaurant we patronized your restaurant very often because of the excellent food and services we received from your staff. There was always a line-up. Even during the Pandemic we ordered food and they were delivered to the house promptly. The food was always delicious.
In 2023 after your Manager, Joyce left, this restaurant has deteriorated tremendously. The service was lousy, staff unfriendly and cold, not a smile, absolutely poor attitude, even the cashier was unfriendly and portrayed impatience. I noticed a lot of new staff and a new manager. I continue to go there because this location is closet to my home and the food is good. Since then I go with a couple of friends for meal off and on but not often and did not have the desire to entertain large group of friends or family there for lunch or dinner as I used to. To say the least, there are abundance of better restaurants providing better service and excellent food in Scarborough.
Unfortunately, my sons and daughter- in-laws suggested that we go to Asian Legend for dinner as their Godparents love the food there. Their Godparents had been invited to this restaurant many times in the past and they love it there. So, we went to this restaurant yesterday evening.
Can you imagine how embarrassed I was with the service yesterday? Nobody came to order drinks. Nobody came to ask for the order. I went out to give the waitress, Amy, the order which I wrote on the small piece of paper. I told her we want to order some drinks. Then another waitress came in and we ordered the drinks, not a smile on her, very unfriendly.
The Peking Duck came first, the appetizers came after second or third dishes. The waitress left and did not remove the netted cover for the hot crepe. We ordered 2 appetizers, 7 dishes and a dessert. There were 7 adults and two young children. We had the corner room to ourselves because of the children.
Many different waitresses came into the room with the different dishes at different time. They simply dump the dish on the turn-table and left, not a word and not a smile. They did not remove empty dishes or the netted cover and basket, they did not remove the menu left on the table and the table was a mess.
When the soup came, the waitress put the soup on the table at my side and left. Then I have to request for Amy to scoop the soup into the small soup bowls. You do not provide this service anymore? We have to request for this service? The two pots of tea were empty for a long time. Not one of the girls noticed it. I have to tell them we need more tea and it took a long time before we got the two pots of tea.. Then I have to ask for clean plates because our plates by then were wet and filthy. The waitress came in, changed my plate because I handed it to her and she changed the guest plate on my left and she placed the stack of plates on the table and left. I said nothing as I did not want to raise a commotion. When they brought the rice, I asked for clean small bowls for the rice as the earlier small bowls were used for the soup. The waitress came with the bowls, left them on the table and left. She did she not remove all the empty small soup bowls and the empty dishes on the turntable. So, can you imagine the clutter and mess on the table? To add to my disappointments, the beef was tough and the broccoli was overcooked. This had never happened before.
I asked for chili sauce. She would have come with a small dish of chili sauce but instead she brought the entire box of difference sauces, bottled chili sauce, soya sauce etc. My goodness! is that how she is trained?
Frankly, I don't usually write to any restaurant about anything that is unfavorable or detestable. I would simply just ignore it and never visit that restaurant again. But, here, I thought it is so sad that I had in the past sent in my best comments on this restaurant about its excellent food and service and I had brought so many friends there and recommended this restaurant to so many friends in the past for so many years and now this restaurant is not the same anymore. Thank you.
