Unfortunately, I found blueberries, raspberries and strawberries from Spain (!) and Italy in the shop at the end of May, when the regional fruit can soon be harvested. That disappointed me very much and actually has to completely contradict the idea of EVI Naturkost! Until now I was impressed by the offer and especially by the cuisine, but now my trust has been shaken. If regional and seasonal products are not offered here, you can shop straight away in the supermarket (which also offers organic products anyway). A pity!

Dear Ms. Kranebitter, First of all, thank you for your honest words. We would also like to comment on this: …Dear Ms. Kranebitter, First of all, thank you for your honest words. We would also like to comment on this: EVI is 100% certified organic, in store and in the restaurant. EVI tries to be regional and seasonal or to give preference to such products... Unfortunately, it's actually not that easy in a store of our size and with a certain range of requirements. We have been desperately looking for regional organic fruit and vegetable farmers for years, but unfortunately there are far too few. That's why we are part of a regional value company that is currently being created to provide targeted support to such companies. Now specifically about the berries: Yes, there are already Austrian organic strawberries (unfortunately not raspberries and blueberries yet) and we already had some. However, it can happen that instead of the Austrian strawberries we ordered, we receive replacements from the retailer without asking because the nights were too cold or the quality is not right... And unfortunately the replacement can still come from Spain or Italy. Sending the sensitive berries back would be tantamount to destruction, as they can neither be used nor sold again. That's why they end up in our store. In general, we are aware of the problem - which is why we stock up to 14 different types of regional apples and only a few berries - but the needs and wishes of our customers are very diverse and we try to fulfill as many as possible. We hope you will trust us again! I can assure you that we try our best and stand behind our values and visions, but like everywhere else, this is not child's play and is not always 100% possible! Best regards Jenny FuchsbergerMore
