10 of us were here on Christmas Day. They had a turkey special, or you could order off the menu. We all ordered something from the menu , and all the food came out at the same time, and it was hot and delicious. The service was great, and the drinks were even better. All in all it was a great experience, and we would not hesitate to go back again next year. York Rd Kitchen may be our family's new Christmas tradition. Four of us had a great visit to York Road Kitchen on a Wednesday evening. The salmon was excellent and the meat loaf tasty. The baked potato that came with the meat loaf was unusual but delicious and the other vegetables (green beans, carrots) were prepared perfectly. From the moment we walked in until we left two hours later the servers were friendly and attentive. All our plates arrived at the same time and at a reasonable interval after we had ordered. (After enough time to have been carefully prepared and not so quickly that you wondered if the meals had been heated in the microwave or kept warm for a while under some lights) We had come to have dinner together and get caught up, so we were pleased to find the atmosphere conducive to conversations at a comfortable level -- unlike many places where the music and others' voices are so intrusive you have to shout to be heard across the table. Altogether a most satisfactory experience. Our particular compliments to the chef and to our two pleasant and conscientious servers. (No fifth star because the room was a little too cool for comfort -- a contrast with the washroom, which was a bit too warm, oddly enough.) [Washroom floor embedded with pennies -- including some American ones -- wall to wall; very entertaining]
