The ramen is one of the best in the city but I had a pretty uncomfortable and unsatisfactory experience otherwise. The bowl handoff was botched and they let go of the bowl before I was able to grab it properly and almost half the soup was spilled all over me. Instead of apologizing, they just quietly walked away and then came back with a bunch of C-folds and did not really acknowledge the incident even happened. I felt weird and my tablemates felt weird and it was all weird, very weird and it made the rest of the dining experience just not so great even though the food was awesome. May or may not come back, would maybe just get take out even though the freshness would suffer. TLDR: Food top notch, service bottom notch. Chili goma was delicious - one of the best bowls I've had but the service... my husband had half a bowl of ramen broth spill onto his lap due to a poor handoff but no apologies or anything. He had worn water resistant pants so it was not bad, but anything else, he would have had soaked, bright red, stained pants for the rest of the night and only half a bowl of soup!! I don't necessarily expect compensation but even an apology would be nice. These clothes ain't cheap! Wakado Ramen is our favorite Ramen's Restaurant in Calgary. The food is fresh and delicious and their service it's amazing. We had a great experience today, because we brought in some family from Mexico and they were very friendly and accomodating with their service, even though they were about to take their lunch break.
