Looking forward to a nice meal, was sat by the door and orderd a glass of wine and gnocchi. then table of 6 or 8 sat down beside me and there volume was ear piercing. I ask for my dinner to go so they tried to move me downstairs to a small space where I feel would just be joining the next table over ,I sat at the bar waiting for my dinner, it came to stay of course, I did my best to enjoy it amongst a now screaming child directly behind me .it didn't take me long to eat my appetizer portion of gnocchi ( I'm not kidding maybe 10 to12 pieces, had a wet flour taste, the sauce was nice but it couldn't quite cover the taste ) I was so disappointed when I left and still so hungry. I would hope this was a one off Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

My partner and I had an amazing day in Bowen Island, until we came to Tuscany Restaurant. I had booked a reservation for the patio at 6:15 on August 25th, and I had booked our table several days in advance. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the host instead led us inside to a tiny, crowded, very loud table right beside the kitchen. I politely told them that I had booked a table outside, and they told us that we couldn’t sit outside because of the weather; HOWEVER, there were 10 other tables of people sitting outside, and it was 21 degrees and very sunny outside! I then asked why 10 other tables of people were sitting outside, but we couldn’t, even though I had specifically booked a reservation for the patio. They responded to my question with: “I don’t know what to tell you. Our host is new, and the owner isn’t here.” I am very deeply disappointed at the service received from this establishment. All visitors should avoid this restaurant. EDIT: In response to the owner’s response - Thank you for acknowledging our disappointing experience and for the sincere apology. I suppose I forgot to mention in my earlier review that there were still approximately 6-8 other free tables outside upon our arrival, and we asked why we could not sit at one of the available tables outside when I specifically booked a reservation for outside, and they said it’s because those tables were reserved. This was extremely frustrating, because one of those tables should have been reserved for us. Service: 1

So sorry Alli. As an owner this sucks to hear. We do have protocol as to prioritizing reservations and our lack of support for a new host must feel super disappointing. The weather was a moving target and it’s very hard to manage everyone …So sorry Alli. As an owner this sucks to hear. Give us a break and try again although do note it’s a small family restaurant so it gets loud and crowded at times. More
