What a gem of a find completely tucked away from the main boulevard that's filled with sushi and burgers this family run Turkish bistro was a lucky find when I almost gave up all hope. I've no idea why all big cities are so obsessed with pizza, burgers, steaks, sushi etc. I get it that it can be good etc but cmon, show some home cooking skills, have pride in your country's cuisine and show your best. Two generations of Turkish immigrants run this small bistro offering different home cooked dishes every day. The mum does the cooking, the father makes the kebabs and the son handles the grill and acts as a translator. Ive literally no idea what i tried as all the writing was in Bulgarian but the yellow soup must have been some kind of a lentil soup, the white one resembled the Polish white borscht with its sour taste but it also had some meatballs in it. Stuffed chicken breast, some beef and stuffed aubergines along with what resembled a chilli con carne but with lot of olive oil and aubergine. So, essentially no idea what I ate but it was worth it The cold Turkish polenta and syrup cake was to die for ill be googling the recipe when back.. Ok i get it, it's not Bulgarian but Turkish but given the influence and scale of the Ottoman empire one could easily call it local or at least regional food Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: BGN 30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The bistro is such a hidden gem in Varna! The food was amazing and super cheap!! They serve traditional Bulgarian dishes and the menu always changes. The beef stew with mushrooms was very tender, and the Turkish soda was also refreshing! The staff were super friendly and they translated every dish for me. This is a must-go in Varna.
