The interior is simple but of high quality. I liked it very much. The seating didn't encourage me to move back and forth even after 4 hours, a good sign. Our main service person was great. Attentive and friendly, without coming across as submissive. There were minor faux-pas here and there (e.g. champagne snow slightly frozen and then spread in lumps), but nothing that really had a negative impact. I was very excited about the non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment, as it was a first time for me. I wasn't disappointed. The coordination between dish and drink was excellent. If the TIAN wants to climb a little higher in the star rating, then a little more creativity and variance would probably be required. The start, cucumber and basil, was well chosen. Showcasing the supposedly boring cucumber is a good way to provide critics of purely vegetarian menus with a striking counter-example. Cucumber sorbet with a slightly hidden cream created a pleasant surprise effect. The tartare was less surprising, but all the more tasty. Balls and crackers also had great combinations. The tomato was a rather boring but very tasty dish. The champagne snow wasn't really my thing - I'm just not a fan of champagne in dishes - but I won't blame that on the restaurant. I would have liked a little bread here, that would have rounded off the dish for me. Two things stood out to me about Melanzani: 1. That I'm incredibly bad at the Austrian terms for vegetables ;). 2. The almond milk, which brought with it a fascinatingly strong aroma. Apart from that, it was the weakest course of the evening for me, albeit at a very high level. I really liked the interpretation of the snack. The bread soup was one of my highlights. You could taste the caraway clearly, but not too clearly, which is always a fine line. The bread options were excellent. The next course: Kohlrabi, ushered in the warm courses. A good start. The two consistencies showed the diversity of kohlrabi. Overall very well coordinated. The Fisolen brought me back to my ignorance of Austrian terms, but it also made for an excellent dish. The combination of beans and pistachios was completely convincing. The signature dish of porcini mushrooms, sunflowers and blackberries absolutely deserves its prominent role. A great combination with intense flavors and a wonderful start to the culinary autumn. At the end of the savory courses it was the turn of the zucchini. I can only recommend that everyone go to the flowers first. Unfortunately, I did it the other way around, which made Second fade completely. The flower in tomato flour was too flavorful for that. A little hint from the service might not have been a bad idea here. The flower was a real highlight. The sweet part of the evening was not TIAN's strong suit for me. In a vegetarian restaurant, I would have liked this part to be more integrated into the overall concept. There are many wonderful combinations with vegetables and sweet elements and patisserie in particular offers almost endless creativity potential. Here, too, I see a major hurdle in moving up the Gault ladder. Despite the small points of criticism, I had a really nice evening that gave me many highlights. Dear Mr. Hellwig, wow, thank you very much for your great and detailed review of your evening with …Dear Mr. Hellwig, wow, thank you very much for your great and detailed review of your evening with us at the TIAN Restaurant. We are very pleased to hear that you liked the interior so much - that speaks for a pleasant, cozy stay. We are very happy about your kind words about our team, and it is nice to know that you felt like you were in good hands in the hands of our employees. The creative combinations you mentioned are very important to us and it's great to hear that you enjoyed the coordination between the dishes and the non-alcoholic drinks. We are particularly pleased with your description of the porcini mushroom-blackberry-sunflower aisle. It's wonderful that we were able to give you an introduction to the culinary autumn season. One of your highlights, the Seinerzeit bread aisle, illustrates what was once taken for granted and is now almost forgotten: nothing was wasted. With this dish we go back to the roots. Thank you for your valuable thoughts and the time you took to share your impressions with us. We hope to welcome you back soon! Kind regards, your TIAN teamMore
