We came here during the summer and it is beautiful. It would be magical watching snow fall out the window. The atmosphere is definitely romantic. They have a large cocktail menu with a few drinks that standout . Food was okay, we ate here a couple of times and although the menu didn't amaze us, we did find their butter tart to stand out-absolutely delicious! I went to Oval Room Brasserie with my dear boyfriend for his birthday. Our night was very beautiful. We almost died on the car ride to the Fort Gary Hotel but it was okay, had nothing to do with the restaurant or hotel. I noticed that parties of two were sat at the walls of the restaurant, on a couch beside each other. Personally, I prefer to sit across from my date, nevertheless the couches and pillows were very comfortable. The look of the Oval Room was very fancy and beautiful, the Fort Gary Hotel is quite a gorgeous location, the ambiance is exquisite. For dinner, we found our meals to be very filling and tasty, although expensive as expected. Our waiter, Eric, was most delightful to have tending to us on our special night, very polite and respectful person. My boyfriend and I will certainly be returning to the Oval Room Brasserie. Took my girlfriend here on a date for my birthday, we almost died on the car ride to the Fort Garry Hotel but at last we made it. I loved the couch seating along the wall allowing me to be closer to my date as well as comfortable throughout the evening. The ambiance of the restaurant was most delightful and the building has beautiful architecture in general, creating a cozy old fashioned vibe. Eric, our server, was a polite and gentle human being that made our night more comfortable and enjoyable for us. The food was delectable, fancy but tasty and yummy as well.
