Unplanned visit to the Waffling Whale cafe looking for a late lunch and the restaurant sounded appealing. Ordered waffles with ice cream, delicious , large enough (shaped as a whale) and well priced. Chicken nuggets for the baby were enjoyed , cheap and large portion for small kid. Parking: Appears to be ample parking but came after lunch time Kid-friendliness: Large indoor playground for smaller kids with jungle gym, and video games for larger kids Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Waffle with Icecream and Caramel Sauce, Honey and Banana Waffle with Cynamon Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

This was such a little gem! After going to the Plett Puzzle Park and raining out, we drove to the Waffling Whale Café for a late lunch. We were all starving by then and our toddler was tired and hangry. Luckily they had an inside play area with arcade games for bigger kids and soft play area for younger kids to keep the hungry kids busy for a while. We waited for quite some time for our order to arrive though. New customers had walked in and sat beside our table and were even served before us. When I then asked where our food was, it was brought to us a few minutes later. Hubby got someone's else food, then we left it on the side of the table so we could ask for the correct order. They did at least realize we received a wrong order and corrected it before we could query it. Hubby had the Fab Waffle and enjoyed it a lot. I had the Curried Mince Waffle, but it was wayyy too tangy. Our eldest son ordered a burger and we got our toddler a kiddies waffle with ice-cream and sweets, which was a very generous portion for him. It's beautifully decorated inside. Would love ti visit again when it's sunny. Kid-friendliness: They have a very nice inside play area with arcade games for bigger kids and soft play area for younger kids to keep hungry kids busy for a while. There's also a few rocking horses/animals outside, but it was raining the day we went there, so the inside play area helped quite a lot. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 100–150 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chips, Burger
