I always enjoy Sunday brunch at The Lobby. If it’s your first time, the host stand is partway in the restaurant (and not super intuitive) so head in past the hotel front desk and you’re good to go. Sat in the lounge side and Craig (the Bar Manager) was our server. Really friendly, patient, and chatty - but not too chatty or fake, either. I ordered the shakshuka with poached eggs, and the shakshuka was delicious. Portion is a bit on the smaller side, but the grilled flatbread that comes with it definitely helps fill you up. I ordered it with poached medium eggs and they came out with really runny whites. I brought this to Craig’s attention and he quickly had new eggs made for me. When it was time for our bill, Craig brought it over and showed/explained that he gave us a discount because of the mishap with my eggs. I definitely wasn’t expecting that at all! - and his friendliness about it, as well as just proactively going that extra step, turned an “alright” experience to a great experience! We would’ve come back for brunch again, no problem - but Craig’s efforts to make it right has solidified that we’ll be back again, just much sooner! Thanks for the care and attention, Craig! Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Dietary restrictions: Decent selection of GF dishes. The GF toast doesn’t come toasted - maybe because they don’t have a dedicated GF toaster? - but it does come warmed, so it’s still enjoyable.
