I really love the Monday night steak night at the Den. Wondering what your carvery is like? Just returned from a trip to the UK where I experienced several carveries! They are amazing there! Looking forward to trying your Carvery some Sunday soon.

Mediocre food with non informative waitresses. Well we decided to come here after having no luck at 2 other restaurants we tried but they were both to busy to find anywhere to sit. We got a seat here no problem. Waited on within a few minutes. Ordered a Stella and a Cesar( Cesar was ok) Stella you can't go wrong with. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was served with some kind of tomato based sauce which was weird considering usually it's served with tatziki, no? The calamari batter was completely flavourless and not crispy.. Kind of like a limp penis. Lifeless. We asked for tatziki. Tasted ok with it. We came in hungry and needed to eat. We then ordered our main dishes, he had the ribs and I had the ribeye. Before we ordered I asked the waitress what some of the menu items were. One of them was a turkey Bologna? And stuffed bacon? How could you stuff bacon? Her response was "I don't know, I just know it's good, your asking me all these hard questions) wouldn't a waitress know what they are serving? That was strange to me. The steak was good, the scalloped potatoes were dull. Me and my boyfriend make way better ones just at home

“Expensive for a pub. The remodel of the Den is ok. During the day/evening it is like a regular pub but nothing really wows you.

Later in the evening they try to act as a bar there is a very small area in front of a stage of some sort that people try to dance at. It's ridiculous really, may as well just dance at our table.

I have eaten here several times and the food is typical pub quality, good enough to eat while drinking but not super high quality. They best part would probably be the appetizers (wings, nachos etc.) however the menu pricing is atrocious!

For example every appetizer starts at 15$ (that's a single portion). The calamari was a frozen product (the thick cut rubbery ring type). And there was the amount you would expect from a 8$ portion size.

I ordered a Caesar salad as a main dish and it was 11$. No chicken etc. when I received it I could not believe my eyes. They literally brought me a portion that you would get with a soup and salad order.

Now let's talk drinks. All beer is over 6$ a piece. The "drink special" is always on a craft beer for close to 7$ if you are looking to hit up happy hour go elsewhere.

That being said if you just want one or two craft beer you might not care too much.

The service has been good which is pretty rare in Grande Prairie.

At night when they turn into some kind of bar the security is pretty rough. They want to scan in everyone's ID which I understand in a real bar but for a little pub like this it seems like a bit of a reach. Feels like they are trying to act bigger than they are.
