Extraordinary! This place has been on my bucket list for about 40 years, but I heard it was expensive. It was worth every penny! EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection, the Cuban lobster was SO tender, the beef perfect, the fresh vegetables awesome... I couldn't rave more. The room had a romantic, elegant ship theme complete with brass portals. The background music and murmer of other guests simply made an ordinary dinner into an intimate occation. They even knew how to make the consummate chocolate martini! The exceptional SERVICE made us feel like royalty. The waiter laid out the table with rare meticulous care and wisked away the plates like the wind replacing them with a palate of pleasure. Many times over it was recommended to me to be the best place for the most special of occasions. Well, life is short, every day alive is special. Highly recommended, you should savor the distinctive quality of the Blue Mermaid Seafood & Steak House. Lovely restaurant and attentive staff which is to be expected for the price. Had a great evening with wonderful friends. We enjoyed the grilled calamari which was cooked perfectly (not overdone or chewy) the cesar salad and chateaubriand steak which was very tender. This was such a treat. It’s rare that we find a restaurant that hits it out of the park on all counts. SERVICE: we had 3 and all were phenomenal! Especially our server, a Fred Standfield relative! What a joy she was! I could spend all day with her. Our other server, son of the owner, was so talented! He prepared our salad at the table, baked Alaska and cherries jubilee. What a joy to watch. FOOD: there were 4 in our party. Each dish was so great. You will not be disappointed with anything you order. AMBIANCE: the room is an inside of a ship. Very unique and beautifully appointed. White linens and very fine. Please do not hesitate to go here!
