When I arrived I stood at the counter for several minutes because there were no staff paying attention. They finally came out because there was a delivery person, and then took my order. I didn’t see any sort of bell to ring or another way to get the staff’s attention while they were out back. The food was very good the layout of the cafe was nice, lots of seating yet it didn’t feel cramped. I would’ve given five stars if it weren’t for having to wait. Service: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Hi Gill! Apologies for the wait. We've got a chime on our door, but unfortunately, recently, it's been sticking and not closing all the way, so no chime. We're going to work on that, and I was thinking to add a mirror so staff can see if someone is at the counter. Thanks for all the other positive feedback, next time you're in we'll do our best to earn that other 20%

Great little coffee shop right by the rails to trails. If you’re in the trail you will see a sign when you’ve approached the location. Lots of parking options. Yummy cafe and snacks! Great little spot Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Going to the 5k Cafe is one of our favourite activities in Halifax. Try biking from the start of the trail at Joseph Howe Superstore. It is a smooth and lovely ride and it is great for adventurous kids. Making this cafe the destination is so much fun. The folks at the 5k are welcoming and friendly. The coffee is organic and delicious. Kid-friendliness: Our kids love all the food here!
