My visit at ‘Tawlet Yvonne’ was caused by my desire to explore a new Lebanese restaurant in Cairo. We Turks see Lebanese cuisine as a mixed Mediterranean cuisine, with Aegean Mediterranean touches. So we prefer it as the most prone and closest cuisine to our taste. Just arrived a very kind and friendly staff welcome me. I took my table in the outdoor area and ordered ‘Tabbouleh’ and ‘Eggplant Fatteh’ . The order was served quickly and very stylishly with freshly baked Lebanese bread. Tabbouleh, one of my favourite in the Lebanese kitchen, was simply magnificent. The freshness of the paisley and taste of all ingredients , the blended flavor and proportion of the lemon-oil mix was simply top! ‘Eggplant Fatteh’, on the other hand, had a unique way at ‘Tawlet Yvonne’. In fact, at first look, I found the Eggplant cubes large, but after the first bite, it figured out why they were ‘over dimensional’ . In this way, the cooks maximized the taste of the eggplant extremely. The cutted & fried bread was extraordinarily crisply and was adding to the flavor of Fatteh. The yogurt used in it was so creamy and neutral but had such an intense taste that you have to taste it! Really I know what I write. Magnificent! For now I am not able to write a lot about the ambiance because I sat at a table in the outdoor area immediately next to the entrance. I can only say that the exterior frames the interior in an L-shape. I definitely recommend ‘Tawlet Yvonne’ to anyone who wants dine Lebanese, but really everyone. You will never, ever regret it. You can be sure that ‘Tawlet Yvonne’ will appeal to all five senses of you. With respect and love for labor, care, and taste Tawlet Yvonne - thank you!
