Fudao Noodle House on Spadina is a solid choice for consistent food quality and straightforward dinner plans! The restaurant sits in a convenient spot near Baldwin and Spadina (near Kensington Market), along the Spadina streetcar line, making it accessible for casual dinners or small groups. A good choice for a hot bowl of soup on a cold winter night or a nice hangout spot with friends! Their menu is straightforward with Noodle Soup, Rice Combos, and Side Dishes. During our visits, we reliably order the tomato soup base, which is rich, flavourful, and comforting. Also, they have the tomato brisket, which offers a newer but satisfying option that includes multiple sizable brisket pieces, all ingredients pre-tossed to cook evenly before it gets to you. For all noodle soup orders, it comes with an existing set of toppings that should be added to the noodle soup to cook and free noodle refills. For side dishes, we have had the potato slices in chili oil, cold cut chicken in chili sauce, and popcorn chicken. Portion sizes are reasonable, and the overall quality is consistent. Customization is available for a surcharge, with extra toppings added to the existing set of toppings. It is fairly simple in the restaurant; the setup uses paper menus that guests mark to indicate their orders. Payment options remain flexible, accepting cash and Canadian debit. The bathroom is located at the back, with stairs leading to a basement area. Their service is very attentive without feeling rushed, like water refills are consistently checked on and dishes are promptly cleared. When the manager is there, there are small gestures, such as offering replacement noodles at no charge when they have sat for too long, that noticeably elevated our experience. Lastly, to note, we have visited here for several years, including a visit during Stage 3 pandemic restrictions. That period showcased a notable rise in care and attention, and the restaurant has adapted while preserving food quality through challenging times.
