This place is terrible. For one, take a look at the coconut bun in the picture. It's supposed to have a coconut filling, but all five buns in the row were empty: all bread. Secondly, the employee was advertising how everything was 50% off, and she specifically pointed me to this item. When she told me it was $4.50, I realized it was what the original price tag said, so I asked if this was discounted. She said yes, and when I asked what the original price was, she couldn't come up with a lie fast enough, because she stood stunned in silence before making up a number of $5.75, which was clearly made up because the sign said $4.50. If there were exceptions to the 50% off discount and this wasn't included, that would be one thing. But she tried to sell me on the discount and then point me to one of the things that just so happened to be excluded, which is just dishonest. For the bun to be terrible and missing very ingredient that it's supposed to have? That's just unacceptable and really silly because they stand to lose ongoing customers just to make a $4.50 sale. I've been coming here for many years and in the past the buns and (especially the egg tarts) were very good. Post-COVID the buns have shrunk in size by quite a bit, almost to the point of being comical.

they have great pineapple buns, better than le chateau or lucullus. i find the bo lo bao crust doesn’t completely crumple or flake off entirely when you toast it up in the oven the next day or two. the bread isn’t overly dense, great flavour and keeps fresh. their curry pastry is good too! their baos are made fresh daily and sold consistently. we stop by as often as we can when in the area!
