I write this review as a great lover of pizza di sugo as well as its location in Genoa Quinto, whose closure last year saddened me. Happy about the reopening, I go to the restaurant after booking two seats. Upon arrival the place has totally changed, the concept seems to be that of a "fusion" restaurant which now also accompanies sushi to the classic menu, the traditional tables (at least in the access room) have given way to high tables with stools. Overall the environment crosses that line between sober elegance and pretentiousness, in my opinion demarcated by the take-away pizza service. The welcome was lukewarm and we were shown two tables immediately behind the cash register and counter area, upon my request to be able to sit at a more secluded table (which was free and in any case always with two place settings), the one who seemed to be the manager, he agrees with a clear sound of disappointment. We sit down and a relatively long wait begins. The service seems slow despite the few seats, but it's not so much the slowness that bothers me but the lack of courtesy, or rather of education, which should always accompany every activity. So I phone the Sugo restaurant in Via Caprera to book two more seats and I go there to eat an excellent meal, welcomed with a smile and served quickly despite the almost full seats, in the classic sober and relaxed setting, whose elegance is inherent in the awareness of being an excellent pizzeria, with excellent service, without the need to overdo it by becoming a bad copy of a starred restaurant. Sometimes it's not enough to build a new restaurant, education would be enough.
