We had dinner in this restaurant located in a pleasant little square in the semi-centre of Perugia. The menu is variable and seasonal, full of carefully researched and selected raw materials and most with the common denominator of originating from southern Italy. The cuisine, on the occasions in which we have dined there, has always been impeccable: the cooking is always perfect, the union of flavors on the palate is excellent because the chosen ingredients mix without overlapping in almost all the dishes, remaining very distinct and decisive. The service has its right times, it is not a fast food and some dishes, such as "L'ovetto" require adequate time given that it is slow cooked. The owners are of a rare friendliness and very knowledgeable in explaining the dishes and suggesting the wine to match. The "Rosso Pomodoro" dish is exquisite. The prices are fair for the excellent quality offered. If you are looking for an original place in Perugia, Sud Osteria Popolare is a must try. Book in advance. The place is very pleasant and in a modern style, with books inside to browse mostly published by the owners.
