Wine tasting and cheese platter. Uhm; I'm not sure how to feel so I'll try to be coherent.
Good points: the wine is really lovely particularly the Chardonnay and cab sav. I bought a bottle of each. The platter was a good variety. The interior cute and cosy with a fire for the cold morning.
Strange: there was no one at reception. We walked in and were old to sit on the couch. The owner and 1 staff member was setting up tables. Our booking was for 11am. We were there at 11 sharp. 2 other couples were waiting; confusion on their faces too. We sat around for 25mins and weren't told or asked anything. There was a large booking for 14. When the big table arrived we were then told to find a seat. It ended up being a group wine tasting (?) Like I wouldn't have minded but we were not informed. People should at least have the choice as to whether they'd like to part take in something like that or not. Nothing was said of the cheeses and little about the wines. It was very strange. The owner did; in group form; tell us about the farm and how it started-which is very impressive. The set up was just odd. Good wines though
A hidden gem. Get traditional food from the West coast. Home made foods made by the 7 sisters. Really enjoyed the experience of a 7 course meal and a wine to compliment it. It tells a story of a family and you get to taste a part of the West Coast in the Winelands.
