Saxifraga is our favourite restaurant in Merano! The food is excellent, with high quality ingredients mostly from the region. The service is outstanding, the owner both are personally involved, and the entire team provides an absolute positive atmosphere. The view from the terrace above the city is spectacular, every time there is a different natural spectacle in the skies above the mountains. Important to mention that you have to walk to the restaurant, it’s not possible to directly reach it via cars. However, the walk is easy - either appr 20 min. from Merino via the Trappeiner Walk or just 9 min. taking 102 steps from the Duomo up to the restaurant. Depending on how many glass of wine you have consumed you might want to consider the way back to the city If you want to go by taxi there is the opportunity to go to a place closer to the restaurant and then walk appx 10 minutes.
