Very traditional HK style congee and small breakfast dishes (HK comfort/street food). Been around for years, since the market village days. I think it's one of the only HK style congee places left (especially the you tiu, it hits different here, very crispy and fluffy, just like HK). We come back offten, and my kids love the rice rolls (zai cheung), since it's so smooth, thin and soft. I hope the restaurant never changes and keeps up this quality! Highly recommend if you're looking for HK style congee, you tiu and cheung fun. Price per person: CA$10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Simple, no frills, quick in and out type of joint. The workers can be a bit curt, but efficient in what they do. My favorites are the fish congee and shrimp rice rolls. Reasonable prices for dim sum plates. Food: 4 Service: 3 Price per person: $10–20

A taste of simple HK breakfast in Markham. Sam’s Congee Delight has been around in Markham for about three decades and still serves affordable congee. We had several bowls with minced meat & preserved eggs ($9.50) which were warm and hearty. They have a sweet soy sauce to add if you find the taste a bit bland, and plenty of snack dishes on the menu. Essentially as all-day breakfast, we added the Tofu in Spicy Sauce ($4.75), Fried Noodles with Bean Sprout ($4.75) and Shrimp Rice Roll ($7). A simple array of HK classic food. The sweet spicy flavors were quite tasty for the tofu. The fried noodles came in a heaping portion but I wish they had a menu item with noodles & protein. The restaurant interior is spacious and you can see the kitchen at work through the glass pane. There is a line for takeout although it wasn’t very busy when we visited in the afternoon. Upon entry, there are tables used as sorting stations which would be better hidden from view. Skip it or hit it? If you’re looking for an affordable alternative to the main congee spots in town, this is a good no frills spot for a quick meal.
