It was my go to for a few years. Since new ownership took over it is disgusting. Sashimi is none existent(paper thin) . Product quality is very poor. Service is not very consistent. I read in the bathroom do not to throw food in toilet, asked server what that was about. She said "you'll see", and I did. I sure miss the old place when Christine was running it. Tried to give it a couple more tries but it's horrible. Save your money and go else where. Picture below is what quality used to be. Not even comparable to today's garbage they served. RIP SAGANO

Been a long standing customer.
This has changed ownership about a year ago and we noticed that sushi menu items (raw fish) took very long to get to the table (45 mins). We resorted to ordering all Nigiri and Sashimi 1st to ensure we were able to enjoy. In the last few months the fish slices on the Nigiri became PAPER thin, had to order Sashimi to add to it. The waitress talked about how they were trying to reduce costs.
My son really enjoys sushi here and goes more often than the rest of us and often brings his friends, the one weird thing is that he really enjoys some sweet & sour sauce with his Sushi (to each their own?). We were at at the restaurant last night however and our server came to us and announced the he would not be allowed to bring a container of sauce in with him any longer. We tried to get a reason from the owner but he does not speak English and would not bother trying to translate an answer to us.
We will not return to Sagano, there are other excellent Sushi restaurants in the area.

Be sure to check your food before leaving. Went here to pick up lunch and didn't get the chance to actually open it until returning to work. What was supposed to be a BC roll (salmon tempura and crab meat) ended up being a roll of rice with a thin slice of mostly tempura batter.
