One of my favourite coffee shops in Nürnberg. It’s a lovely, modern space and never too busy. They have a huge, industrial coffee grinder which is very impressive to see. For me the coffee is 10/10. Service: Dine in Price per person: €1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

One of my two favorite roasters in Nuremberg. The coffee is delicious, both the outdoor and indoor areas are very harmoniously furnished. The baked goods are also very good and from the area (I think I recognized Hildes Backwut and Küfners Nussecken). The dishes are so tasteful that the espresso tastes better when it is served in this unique pottery item. Why only 2 stars? There are just two things that bother me so much that I'm thinking about driving three times the distance somewhere else to buy my coffee there in the future. Buying loose coffee. I've been told several times that it's possible to buy loose coffee at the Laufer Gasse roasting drum, with its own container. This must be completely normal in the roastery itself, why isn't it advertised? Because it doesn't seem to work or isn't wanted. I've asked several times and been rejected several times. I could buy the coffee in a milk bottle (365g) or you could fill the can with 365g increments, of course at the exorbitant price of the 365g bottle. Of course there is only the organic espresso, because with the other types it is apparently not necessary. Is it not offered because there is no need? That could be true, but I have a need, I don't live far away and I go to the roastery with the aim of buying 1kg of coffee, packing an extra can is now no extra effort for me. Maybe others think the same way but haven't expressed it yet. Instead, I am rewarded with 25g of plastic waste that I pick up every month. I already asked about it when the milk bottle was introduced, but my written request apparently went exactly the same way as the 300g plastic coffee bags do for me every year. It's definitely not impossible, there are scales in the roastery and the 250g/500g/1000g bags are filled and weighed by hand in the same way, so why not with a can? And there can hardly be any additional effort involved, I often go out to buy my beans outside of peak times and apart from 1-2 people at the counter and the employee roasting/bottling, there are usually only a small handful of other customers sitting around. It would be so easy to implement, maybe it would work, but the employees don't know about it, but that's not the reason why I give 2 stars, but rather the following: For a good 6 months now, the card reader has been begging me for a tip when paying by card. When I buy beans. With a coffee that already has premium prices and promises that farmers and employees are paid fairly. Even if I were to have a coffee there, the store is self-service. I order my coffee and, if necessary, pastries and carry them to the table myself. What kind of American conditions are these that I have to leave a tip for shopping? Imagine being begged for a tip for the cashier every time you pay at Edeka. The fact that I'm being asked for a tip is just part of the excitement, rather that I have to ACTIVELY refuse the tip on a mini field on the touchscreen of the 0815 card reader (Ingenico Move/5000 or something with a maybe 4" screen) , where all answer options are in the lower third, the NO TIP button is of course the smallest (red at least), and above it is the button three times as big for rounding up. Then I stand there and try to close this 1cm x 0.3cm field with my sausage fingers without accidentally hitting the button above or the cancel button below. All while the checkout staff actively look away, embarrassed, because they are at least as uncomfortable as it is to me and they see this ridiculous situation dozens of times a day. The customer was thrilled Not in front of me either. 5* if these grievances weren't there. Service: Take out Price per person: €1–10 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
