Our experience with the Roadhouse Schneiderkrug 03/18/2023. Reserved table for 2 people. Arrived at 6:30 p.m., we were quickly taken to our table and our drinks and food orders were taken. The starter came relatively quickly (feta cream with bread) where the ratio of too little bread (3 small slices) to 3 larger feta balls didn't fit at all. The cream was delicious. But what happened next is unacceptable in my eyes. Mind you, we had placed our food order at 6:45 p.m....the main course didn't come until 8:15 p.m....only when we asked what's going on, because we had actually only reserved the table until 8:00 p.m., were we told that our food was delayed because A larger group first had to be served there... No apologies, no accommodating... I find it difficult to let guests wait so long, let alone leave them in the dark... The waiters looked at us embarrassed... If you are not able to send several meals in a short time, you should not take so many reservations.. Finally, we wanted a Ramazzotti and an Ouzo, which took another 15 minutes.... Now to the quality of the food: gourmet plates and lady plates were ordered. The potatoes and the vegetables were delicious. The meat was very fibrous and became more and more in the mouth, which is a shame. Unfortunately, it was only partially fried... You shouldn't skimp on the quality of meat... For us, these are all things to say that we won't be coming back again. Addendum reply to the owner : Yes the table was for 18.00. Ordered, you told me on the phone that we can also come at 6.30 p.m. but that the table will be given to others at 8 p.m. It's not a problem. 1.5 hours sitting and eating would have been enough for us. For the appetizer and the bread, we wanted to share the small appetizer. And we found it strange that 3 small slices of bread were served with it. 4 would have been okay. And we weren't told that you could order bread. For me, something like that is simply part of good service, no matter how busy it is. It's not a problem if you have to wait a bit for a main course. But over 1.15h? And then trying to talk nicely is not acceptable and disappoints me even more... In addition, we were simply left sitting at the table without any information or similar. That brings us back to service and hospitality... The thing with the table was only explained when I asked. It was just before 8:00 p.m. that we would like to stay seated longer. It would be funny if we had to leave again, although the main course wasn't served. At the Ladyteller we had the desire to exchange the pork for a BEEF FILLET (of course we would have paid more for it) but a rump steak was brought which was of very inferior quality. Our opinion. I tried it and it was dry and very fibrous. I've grilled a lot of meat myself and the like, but always pay attention to good quality.. But not good. That's our opinion. I also find the explanation for my dish very funny from them. If it's so difficult to grill the 3 types of meat on a skewer or similar and I, as a restaurateur, can't say 100% that it's on point when it arrives at the guest, I take it off the menu or grill it individually. Except for the rip eye (which was very tasty), the rump steak was again very dry and fibrous, just like the filet piece. Sry again my, our opinion. The service was very friendly and tried hard, but due to the long waiting time I was embarrassed, which you could see every time he walked past us. The evening was very unfortunate for people coming to their restaurant for the first time. I'm also not someone who pays attention to money when he goes out to eat.. I told you by phone that we were fully booked, but we would still like to try to make everything possible. I myself was the chef in the kitchen yesterday and can understand the process exactly. Guests can order more bread with the starter at any time, for some it is too much bread, for some too little, we have to set a standard somewhere so that everything doesn't end up in the organic waste bin. It happens that on the weekends you have to wait a bit for the main course, especially if you have ordered a starter, only after you have eaten the starter are the main courses called. Only then do we freshly prepare all the dishes a la minute, and you usually wait a maximum of 40 minutes, including the starter. Therefore rather an exception, that they had to wait longer. In addition, our restaurant manager has informed you that you are welcome to sit longer and that the table will not be occupied again. Too bad they don't mention the positive aspects. If you had a wish for a main course without pork, we prepared a whole rump steak for it. We are a long-established restaurant. Our guests value our service, our cuisine and our value for money. We believe when dining out you should take your time and enjoy yourself and judge the evening by the circumstances. The whole team went out of their way to ensure you had a great evening.
