I was really looking forward to eating here as I saw some good reviews. However, it wasn't as great as I hoped for (it wasn't bad though, just "decent"). Let's start with the menu. The menu is given to you by a visitor card, which you then need to scan by phone (qr code) to see what's available on the menu. I understand if the host chose this option to amend the menu easier (and have it in different languages), but personally (as a customer) I would have preferred to have some sort of menu I can hold in my hands. The food itself tasted fresh (I ordered the fried calamari and a side dish of cherry tomato salad), but I'm really sorry to day that the calamari was slightly too salty and I was glad I had a side dish. The side dish of cherry tomatoes was nicely prepared, to tomatoes tasted really fresh too, but I would have personally liked it to have at least a hint of something extra other that just "cherry tomatoes" (it's on the menu as a salad, not as "tomatoes"). A hint of basil, perhaps some onion, anything to "enrich" the side dish would have been really nice. Right in the heart of Portopalo, this is a great restaurant with a great atmosphere. The boss, Anna, keeps a very tight ship, and the other staff are great. Food: excellent.
