Fabulous food on the lovely terrace. I have been dining in Flachau for 12 years; while we have very good restaurants Sundowner No. 98 is fine dining by a talented chef. We started with cocktails while we enjoyed bread and spreads (cover charge). We discussed the wines from the very good list with our knowledgeable waiter - we chose Fishbacher's own Austrian rose and it was dry and delicious. We had gazpacho, burrata and the Arctic char and prawn variation; all were excellent but the char and prawn plate, which had more than that was superb (pictured). For mains we had veal schnitzel, bouillabaisse with several hefty pieces of different fish and a butterflied prawn, and eierschwammerl ravioli, again all were excellent. We finished with sorbet and a free dessert with a roman candle for the birthday girl and coffee. Our waiter was charming, helpful and friendly. The ambience was slightly lacking as few tables had been occupied...do yourself a favour and book for the best food in Flachau!
