We didn´t have any reservation. Near to the Rhein and parking place. Calm atmosphere. Enjoyed the Flammkuchen with Federweisser. The service was very friendly, she invited us for a Julischka. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had dinner there with my family today. I have to admit that the food and the restaurant as a whole was a total disaster. The portions reminded me of a children's plate but the full price was charged. The quality was inferior. Then my daughter ordered mayonnaise and ayvar, which actually had to be paid for separately. For our part, we will never visit this restaurant again. Thanks for nothing. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Arrived at Bad Honnef on the tram from Bonn and found the Restaurant Rheingold across the road. It was about 1830 on a Sunday July 2015 when the daytime temperature had reached >40C. Fortunately what we Australians would call something of a cool change had arrived just before us so sitting on the balcony enjoying a beer (and then the food) was most enjoyable. My travelling companion and I do not speak German but language wasn't a problem. Beer was cold and refreshing and the food (don't recall the actual dishes) was possibly the best of our eight week European adventure from Australia. Got the impression they didn't get too many "walk up" patrons from Australia arriving by tram but what a wonderful way to complete a very hot and tiring summer day. The tram ride especially at the Bad Honnef end where it passes close to the river was most enjoyable. Restaurant Rheingold is highly recommended.
