Super restaurant. Magnifique cadre, nourriture parfaite spécialisée dans la viande/viande maturée mais mention spéciale pour la vispannetje à tomber. Service au top et conseils précieux dans le choix des vins. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70

VIANDE maturée très très ,trop ferme à 45€ les 200grs Bel endroit, mais vraiment très cher pour ce que c'est. Et je ne parle pas des prix du vin,premier prix 56€.

I came here on 23/10/2023 to taste it.............. Had reserved for 3 people. But... unfortunately I had to call their (popelier) 14 minutes before the appointment to say that there was one less person coming. From 3 to 2 people. A very friendly woman on the phone said this was no problem. When we arrived at 5:55 p.m., we were immediately given a choice of where to sit for a table. We were too early, but no problem. ....... At the entrance we saw the beautiful meat drying, species unknown to us. Once at the table, the pleasant waitress came to take our drinks. Served briefly but well and quickly.....Then a young man came,......(we are a bit older). This person was able to explain food and drinks on the menu with incredible passion. All questions were answered clearly, and we did have a few. His explanation made our choice so easy that we went for the "cote A l'os Prussian Black". Immediately stating that the meat needed some time to come up to temperature. This beautiful piece was also shown to us before it went to the kitchen. The choice of wine was also a breeze due to the thorough explanation. Although as a keen Flemish person, we went for a Walloon wine. And this was certainly not a wrong choice. The Walloons have probably learned something after all. Iberico ham as a starter/tapas, with delicious bread and damn delicious butter. We were informed in advance that preparing the meat would take some time. So time for a snack. Iberico ham was tasty with the sun-dried tomatoes. With the starter we had a Gin and a delicious rose. Then came the meat................................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............. The smell alone. 1.2kg on the bone, Saignant with a crust. Since it was 1 piece of meat and I like it rare and other people prefer a little more fried, the waiter passed this on to the kitchen. So we were left with a perfect mix of outside and inside sides of the meat. Perfectly sliced ​​and reserved on a hot plate/dish. The tasting was delicious... Pure meat... We both requested the fresh béarnaise sauce. Although it was very light and tasty, the meat did not require it. Puuuur or with a little bit of salt on it. It was just wonderful. .....Then the dessert... I was the difficult one again...A moulleux, but I also wanted to taste the salted caramel sauce that was actually part of another dessert. So this simply came to the table in a separate jar that, for the sake of politeness, I just didn't drain. So... all in all... an incredible evening that started at 5:55 PM and ended at 9:50 PM according to the time on the ticket bill. Then I forgot to mention that the 2 pralines we received with the digestif are worth repeating. So "restaurant Popelier" prepares those chocolates. We will definitely come again.
