Overall, I did not have a good experience at this establishment...and not because the Jays lost game 7! The sour experience mostly involved security and the ridiculous access to the bathrooms (or lack thereof). This was my first time at Rendezviews. While lining up to get in there was more than one instance where someone from the street bribed their way past the line via soft-talking the security. And no, they were not VIP. I was also really annoyed that the Bouncer at the check-in threw away my food, bottled water and electrolyte drink (Biosteel) that I had brought with me to celebrate on the street afterwards if the Jays ended up winning The Series. Nowhere on the watch party events page did it mention that "no outside food or drink is permitted". It's also quite surprising for an outdoor event. Heck, even Rogers Centre allows outside food and drink! Furthermore, for the hour and a half waiting in line there was zero indication anywhere that food or drink was not permitted. And there was a $10 cover! But, that's fine, I just didn't spend as much as I otherwise would have. These are fairly minor quarrels but what really annoyed me was the security guard who wrongfully put his hands on me in the bathroom line. The bathroom itself is actually located inside a different establishment adjacent to Rendezviews, while the line is an an alleyway that connects the two establishments. If that isn't odd enough when I went to use the bathroom during the latter part of the game the security guard told everyone that the bathroom was CLOSED FOR THE NIGHT, without giving a reason. I'm thinking to myself, "There are hundreds of people watching the game here and you're going to close the only bathroom they have access to"? After a few minutes I noticed people were being allowed into the bathroom again. I went to the guard and asked "What happened? I thought the bathroom was closed?" He told me "We decided to re-open it". So, within a few minutes the bathroom was closed and then re-opened. Moments later while I'm waiting alone in the men's line for the bathroom two girls show up. The guard for some reason decided to put BOTH of his hands on me and move me aside. It was literally just me, waiting patiently and quietly in the MEN'S LINE and this dude, without asking me to move somewhere (even though the girls were in a separate line), grabs me by my chest and abdomen and pulls me further back so that two girls in skimpy dresses can walk a red carpet to the bathroom. This is physical harassment! It's not like I was blocking any entrances or pathways. I'm literally just standing still in the men's line waiting for a spot in the men's bathroom to open up. It's not like the girls came up behind me and I refused to move. They came up to the bathroom, ADJACENT TO ME, with enough space for everyone to wait. You don't put your hands on a patron unless they are acting violently or causing harm to others! I don't know if this guy thinks I'm going to spontaneously and randomly attack the girls or if his brain just overloads when he sees young girls. On any other night I would have made a scene but because it's Game 7 of the World Series I wasn't going to let some asinine guard ruin my night. Needless to say, I won't ever come back here. The security guards here are disingenuous, lack basic judgment and situational thinking and communicate poorly. In case you are wondering who to look for the guard who harassed me is in his early to mid 20s, roughly 6'2-6'4 with a dark complexion. I'm not sure what it is about me that offended him. Maybe I physically fit some sort of profile that turns him off. Or maybe he just wanted to look macho in front of two young girls! Either way, it's inexcusable to put his hands on me the way he did. I'm sure this wont be the last time he does this, either. Anyway, I gave 2 stars for the nice view. Not sure how the food is because I didn't care to try any. A part of me is glad the Jays didn't win because it would forever be associated with this sour experience I had at Rendezviews. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
