we were waiting for maybe 25 minutes for our appetizers, during that wait, we hear the manager yelling at the kitchen staff for not being fast enough, and then yell at them again for not answering her. After our appys came and left, we waiting for another 20-30 mins for our meals, and we saw the kitchen counter where the chefs place the ready meals for servers to take FULL of plates that needed service. Once we get our food, the burger top bun was almost burnt from the warmers, my extra dip i ordered was discoloured and cooked ontop. lemon was hot. and caesar salad was warm and wilty. very very disappointed. should have sent most of it back, as we did end up getting food poisoning. Start with food: decent flat top style burgers, bottomless sides and milk shakes have likely kept this business running as long as it has. In our two plates, one had a longish black beard hair under the fries. Food was served reasonably fast given that the poor server was completely by herself serving half the restaurant. The manager made an appearance to assist as well, but talk about running your staff ragged. A number of small things were missed, napkins, cutlery, plates with appies etc. I do not see this as the waitress fault as she was managing 20+ groups of customers solo. Just be aware shotty staffing might detract from your experience. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, I was disgusted. The carpeted floor is grey from filth and stank. The bench seats, chairs were grey and burned out, beat up, in desperate need of TLC. The ducting and cabinet tops boast a layer of grease and dust so thick it looks like it's alive. Tables were left dirty, chair was covered in crumbs. I can only imagine if the quality of the floor is as such, that the quality of the kitchen follows suit. In summary: I will not return. I am genuinely shocked at the state of this once vibrant restaurant. And I would advise considering other options. These are problems symptomatic of negligent management, and food produced in an environment so filthy is not food worth putting into your body.
