I have known Herten for a long time. It's not a very nice city if you talk about the downtown area. A lot of things could be made nicer. The Rathaus Café has been there for a long time and has changed hands at times. There are also cocktails at the EM entrance, but woe betide anyone who expects too much here. Some people from Turkey will probably feel very comfortable here, lots of Turkish dishes, desserts and drinks. Yes, even having a Turkish breakfast is no problem here. German breakfast? Or even alcohol in the cocktail? No, that doesn't exist here. It's easy to feel out of place and irritated here. I would like a café that is located in such a busy and central place to respond neutrally to the needs of its visitors and not culturally close the door to visitors who do not come from the Arab or Turkish region.
