I never believed in “food made by heart that mixed with love and passion” till I tried “Pharaohs Restaurant” in Edmonton, AB. The minute I entered the place, I felt immediately in home welcomed with big smiles and greetings from Cathy & Ibrahim; restaurant owners. Cathy is also the chef. The restaurant is super clean, well-organized and full of authentic things take you back home. The menu has all food that mommy cooked and prepared in home with recipes inherited from generation longtime ago. I ordered Alexandrian liver served with tahina sauce and rice. Never ever taste something like that in my life, best ever liver made under our globe. Cathy recommended “tongue of a bird” soup which made from small macaroni; not bird’s tongue, mixed with green peas, carrots and chicken. The aroma breaks into heart before tasting it. The first sip fills your mouth with all meaning of food pleasures, no need to wait till the end of the soup. The main dishes were 1) lamb shank with mulokhiah “nalta jute” comes with its special taqliah “garlic pieces fried in ghee” served with rice. 2) lamb shank with potatoes cooked in oven with red sauce. I was totally speechless and couldn’t describe the happiness I felt after tasting the main dishes. Cathy cooking style and recipes are extraordinary and fabulous. The Arabic says, Cathy hands shall be wrapped with silk” meaning Cathy has golden fingers. The dessert; nothing is better in this amazing environment than “Umm Ali” the traditional Egyptian dessert inherited from 1000s years ago Cathy adds her own touch raising it beyond your imagination. As complimentary, Cathy offered pumpkin dessert; I never eat pumpkin but Cathy delicious pumpkin dessert has completely changed my mind and made me fall in love with it. Finally, as an expert sales and marketing person with +30 years experiences, I admit the amount of love and passion in customer services from Cathy and Ibrahim has taught me the true meaning of “taking care of customers”. This is my place when I am in Edmonton. Cathy and Ibrahim, I wish you both all success and progress in you business with all blessings from God and keep up these endless and amazing things you bring into table.
