We went here for brunch - would highly recommend. All the food, but especially the bread and pastries were incredibly good.

In February 2024, eight of us were there for dinner. We were more than disappointed and will never visit the store again. There are many places where you can eat much better for far less money. Here are a few reasons for the negative review: - As soon as we entered, we were informed that we were welcome to hang up our jackets in the cloakroom ourselves. - According to the website, the music is part of the experience; on our evening, ACDC and similar wildly mixed hits were playing on Spotify. - The wine & juice accompaniment was poured into ONE glass throughout the evening. When we asked for new glasses, all we got were sayings like “you can rinse it with table water” (table water was refilled every 30 minutes and was enough for 4 people, as a reminder: 8 people were sitting at the table.) Sustainability is out of place in this case . - The main course (pork belly) was inedible (soft instead of crispy, full of cartilage and pieces of bone), the waiter didn't ask if anything was wrong, even though 6 plates were almost untouched. - The presentation of the courses was like a presentation from school days, each of the young waiters was allowed to give a short lecture, which definitely didn't suit everyone, to say the least. - At the beginning we were informed that nothing fresh can be harvested at this time of year, so the menu consists entirely of pickles from last year - on the website you can read: There is no menu, because we look at what else is available on a daily basis is available on the market - it would almost have been funny... - The home-baked bread was teased four courses beforehand so strongly, as if the Pankratz itself had invented baking bread - without this one slice of bread, however, there would have been no feeling of satiety at all that evening. (Little comment from the waiter: If you would like a crispy edge slice, you are welcome to swap with each other at the table) - The scratch ice cream with red cranberry sauce was the joke of the evening - The crème brûlée was not cold, but completely lukewarm, which alone speaks volumes - When paying, it was pointed out to me that I was welcome to give a tip, I replied in the original tone: "I don't want to, it wasn't that great" - this wasn't even followed by a question as to why this was the case, but rather a look of “yes, you’re right”. Most of the positive reviews seem to relate to the breakfast, which is probably good, but also overpriced. All I can say is that I more than regret the money I lost there that evening.

I am very excited about what has been built over many years. The desire to offer customers incredibly high-quality food is remarkable. The baked goods are unparalleled in Mainz in terms of craftsmanship and taste. No matter what is produced. Quality is always in the foreground. Great. And yes, such foods have to come at a price. The world won't get better from bad, cheap food. Pankratiushofkeep it up .
