Suggested by a friend, I stopped in Veroli to eat at Pane e Cicoria. What can I say...surprising! First of all I congratulate the very kind and knowledgeable owners. They know how to describe their dishes and the raw materials they use with passion. They have a non-pretentious range of dishes but be careful... they are Dishes with a capital P that give joy to both the eye and the palate. For each course I smiled at the first taste! Let's start with the bread cannoli filled with chicory and burrata. Beautiful, delicious, crunchy and tasty at the right point. The spaghetti with cream of broccoli, pecorino and pork rind popcorn (a spectacle) was a real surprise. The right amount of pecorino enhanced the flavor of the broccoli cream enriched by the delicate taste of the pork rind popcorn. Rack of Murgia lamb with chicory. Lamb cooked at low temperature that melted in your mouth. The quality, quantity and price ratio in my opinion is very good. I conclude by saying that I will return to Veroli for the pleasure of eating at Pane e Cicoria and having a chat with the owners.
