I loved the Groll room and would go back tomorrow. George the maitre d was excellent and looked after everyone superbly. Food and wine first class and atmosphere is lovely. Elegant but not stuffy. I couldn’t fault it. The only thing is that I specifically asked for no carbs and they brought me three fat ugly potatoes !!!! Don’t people listen ? Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Well... After coming here twice, my perception of the place hasn't changed. Let's start of with the restaurant first. It is definitely classical elegance, the heavy chairs and elegant decor are lovely, though, everything was crammed, I don't like being a mere 1 metre away from the next table. The ambience, was nothing to write home about. There was no music, and everything was quiet, expect the rather loud table a few metres away from us.

The service, well it was average. To be honest, I'd rather go and sit somewhere with the waiter being friendly, accommodating, bubbly and who is constantly checking up on the food, drink and anything that I might want than sit here. The waiter (like many other establishments) was mute and didn't have any expression, he didn't come round checking how everything is. He was busy attending to another big table, which in my opinion is not why I'd come to The Grill Room. He was more interested in serving us "hors d'oeuvres" on his cart than attending to us.

The food, yikes. This was a major disappointment for me. You could call me a fussy eater, but most places usually have something that I quite fancy. Here though, the options were limited considering that I don't eat pork or beef. I ordered the "Two Bone Lamb" which sounded delicious but coupled with the extremely TINY portion, the different tastes and flavours didn't sit well in my palate. It is definitely not fine dining for me.

I had high expectations for The Grill Room at the Oyster Box Hotel. It's definitely not fine dining, the prices are ridiculously high for the tiny portions and the service and ambience was "meh". If you like different tastes, then maybe it's perfect for you.
