It's a shame that Ouzeria has changed its concept. The charming, small restaurant with special Greek tapas has now become a supposed "fine dining" restaurant. Unfortunately, in my opinion the price-performance ratio is not at all good. The portions are far too small, overpriced and the taste is not convincing. If you are still hungry after a visit to the Ouzeria, I recommend the Elea Candia right next door. It is a kind of “snack bar”, but you sit there comfortably and get VERY good, fresh Greek food at surprisingly reasonable prices. Perhaps our disappointment was particularly great because I had recommended the restaurant and had previously said that there were good Greek tapas here at fair prices. When we saw the menu we were amazed: starters were around 14-16 EUR, main courses were over 30 EUR. Of course, sitting there expecting something completely different was a bit uncomfortable - especially for me because I chose the restaurant. Unfortunately, when I asked the waitress when the Ouzeria had stopped being a tapas bar, I received a rather unfriendly answer: It had been that way for over four years. That surprised me and I have now seen in my old photos that I spent a lovely evening with two friends in the Ouzeria on November 26, 2022 and ate very good Greek tapas. The service lady obviously had fun not telling the truth and wanting to embarrass me in front of my friends?! Unfortunately, the lady in service was very annoyed with us and let us feel it at the end of the evening - a very unpleasant experience that is completely inappropriate in a "fine dining" restaurant. Maybe you should think about changing the name if the concept is changed so fundamentally. In this way, misunderstandings and disappointing evenings could be avoided, especially since “Ouzeria” actually means a tapas tavern. At least the service should be set up so that guests who still expect the old concept could sit at a table and then respond professionally and understandingly. One thing is clear to me: I would no longer go to the Ouzeria for fine dining. There are many other restaurants in Cologne that offer better food and service. The Ouzeria could be a recommendation for people who want to eat something “upscale” or at least more expensive in a lively, go-away area in a relaxed atmosphere and then still want to go out within walking distance. I would recommend the following restaurants for “fine dining” and especially for good service: PULS, Henne Weinbar, Maibeck, Phaedra, La Fonda, ACHT etc. etc. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Dear Ms. Schumacher, I don't know at all where to start. But since you took so much time on your …Dear Ms. Schumacher, I don't know at all where to start. But since you took so much time on your Friday evening to write this long comment, I'll now dedicate a few minutes of my time to you one last time. Our casual fine dining concept has become very well established - but if anyone comes with the idea of the Greek tapas from years ago, we always politely explain that we are the second generation and are now continuing a changed concept. They were ironic and disrespectful from the start, which didn't leave much room for maneuver. By the way, I'm Maria, the owner and the "service lady" from yesterday and here are a few facts about last night: You have made a reservation for 7 people on Friday evening and please be sure to do so at the front sit. We were happy to fulfill this wish. After the placement and throughout the evening they loudly trumpeted at the table what it was all about and how it was possible to change the concept with the same name. People laughed out loud and thought about whether they still had a chance to go somewhere else. When ordering drinks, I took back the bottle of wine that the lady next to you ordered because she didn't like the wine. You then tried the second one which wasn't for you either. With the third one you said, but you can take it with extra ice cubes. With the exception of one gentleman, they all only ate one starter per person and one gentleman even said: Nothing for me, I've already eaten. This is of course the ideal case when visiting a restaurant. Nobody wanted dessert either. Throughout the rest of the evening ironic comments were made that I didn't respond to. But then at the end, the last derogatory comments from you made me bristle and the only thing I said politely at your table was: if you haven't visited a restaurant for several years, you should perhaps check the website and menu shortly beforehand look. But even if you don't, you can still be respectful and make the most of the evening. One gentleman then asked me sincerely not to go into it any further and apologized for my behavior. I wish you so much happiness and satisfaction for the future that you will be able to talk to 6 friends on an evening about topics other than the changes in a restaurant. Best regards, Maria - service lady More
